Anne McRay (b.1990) is an artist working in printmaking, spoken word and rap music. In crafting her own unique archive of personal politics and language, the artist’s work connects a specific history to the personal experience and offers an interdisciplinary, creative autobiographical account of prevailing narratives in the broader culture. Also known as “Annie R U OK,” the artist has performed in numerous venues, cyphers, and performance spaces. She has exhibited at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts and with Olympia Arts Collective, and is the recipient of awards including a SIP Fellowship and Student Arches Award and has been a visiting artist and teacher with Urban Art Beat. The artist currently lives & works in Brooklyn.
